Backpack straps

Add-on shoulder and waist straps to better convert the rux into a backpack!

Thanksn Byron. I agree that’s a good addition. My new favourite use for RUX 70 is family surf days. So far its been short walks so mostly OK. But today I was without a vehicle and the kitesurfing conditions were firing, so I threw everything in my 70 and walked a few km to the nearest beach. Success, but backpack worthy straps would have helped.

@Byron Yu thanks for the suggestion! Just double checking you’re talking about the RUX 70L? How far and where would you envision hiking with it? Also curious how heavy you’d be willing to make it. I use mine in back mode in the airport when flying and also when getting from my truck to my cabin.

Actually i just realized that the shoulder straps have been improved with more padding. I’ve order them to try them out. But maybe a waist strap is still worth a consideration? I love using my rux at the crag.

@Byron Yu let us know what you think of the new straps! we’ve also considered making a more padded add on that can wrap around the the existing straps.

A waist strap would be amazing as the weight would be carried by our hips more than our shoulders !

@K_laframboise agreed! And while I’ve got you, what use case(s) do you have in mind for backpacking your RUX?

I am thinking a few km while canoeing/camping.
While island hoping in Southeast Asia from the boat till the hotel/campground …while moving supplies in remote area in cambodia. basically anywhere where wheels don’t cut it and having to carry it more than a few hundred meters…

Hi, i just wanted to check in. I want to the crag yesterday, with a 20 minute uphill approach, carry rope and a trad rack in my rux. The new padded straps actaully handled pretty well. A giant upgrade over the original straps. I don’t know if a waist strao is necessary anymore. Thanks for continuing to improve the product!
