1/3 depth bag / tray to hang from inner rails for lightweight items

S

DESIGN:
Same design as the Rux bag but with 1/2-1/3 the height, shorter handles, full length mesh top and 70L-style floor. A system to hang from utility hooks fixed to the inner rail could be an easier alternative to the rail clips. Possibly use tri-fold lid material on the long sides for rigidity while maintaining foldability. Ideally the bag / tray would fold flat when not in use.

MY USE CASE (pics):
I have a dedicated 70L inside my Jeep that serves as a locker. One half has a Rux bag with bottles, aerosol cans, and other tall items. The other half has my heavy tool roll on the bottom and a tool tray from a compact Milwaukee pack out tool box for small tools and parts for easy access. On the outside I’m using Molle panels, a bag and a clip. I’d love to replace the ill-fitting packout tool tray with a Rux tray.

MY JEEP / RUX BUILDOUT:
The RUX system is the heart of my ultralight Jeep camper build. As an ultralight backpacker, I’m extremely weight conscious.

My entire Wrangler Rubicon overland build weighs 500# over stock with 37” tires, long arm suspension, 12k winch, full aluminum skid plate, aluminum bumpers, goose gear plate system, Ursa Minor camper and 270° awning. Drawer systems are out of the question and my entire Rux inventory weighs less than just 1 large Zargas or Pelican case.

I have 4 70L + bags, clips, straps, molle panels etc for my ‘21 Jeep Rubicon and gear needs: 3-70L for adventure gear and a 70L that sits in my truck full-time. The full-time 70L also serves as a pedestal for my dogs bed. The Rux utility straps and tie-down straps keep the 70L pedestal in place.

@Stephenmcrane wow what a sick rig! would love to chat more about a tool roll / bag type solution. I’ve similar thoughts. We have a couple new products coming out this month that I think you’ll also love.

Thanks much! I absolutely love your design philosophy - it’s making such fantastic products! Am looking forward to new products. LOVE the new rigid wall panels. Allows me to have several dedicated 70L’s and a few collapsible ones to flex into when the adventure requires.

A hard plastic lip or full plastic tray could leverage the Rux utility hooks attached to the inner rails to hange from.

A rollable / foldable version could use small hooks or pins pointing sliding down into the rail on 2 or three sides. That would provide enough support for a rectangular box sewn from soft fabric version that could just fold / roll up when not needed.
