Add Grip to Shoulder Strap

I know the video says there is beading along the edges of the strap quoting the gentleman in the video, “Making it really grippy.”
Nothing is more annoying than a bag that falls off your shoulder when you walk. Either the bag I purchased missed the “grippy” stage or I misunderstood the video but I based my purchase based on the grippy strap. Mine is like a seat belt material and very smooth and slippery on both sides. I would say add that to your straps and you have got a game changer!

Hello! Our previous straps did not have the additonal silicon grip, but newer versions do! All products that use a RUX Shoulder Strap from August 2025 will have this version of the strap.

I just placed an order and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. I only ordered it because it was described on the video as “grippy” which is exactly what I was looking for. Sadly it is not. I believe I received an older strap.
I need to purchase a strap now from somewhere else as this is not going to work for me. For the price of the product, getting a strap that has grip is going to drive up the cost.

I think I know what has happened! The video you just saw is for our kickstarter for the next iteration of the RUX Waterproof Bag. It will be coming out later this year, and has the new strap.

The current version has the strap that came with yours. I can reach out to our customer service manage and see if they can get you a discount code on a new strap when they arrive in August?

The video I watched is from April 3. 2023 entitled “The New RUX Waterproof Bag” where Tony described the features in detail “welded with bead along the edge and nice and grippy so it stays on your shoulder.” The video explains all the improvements that were made from “last year” which would have been 2022, I did not think that the changes he mentioned on the video that he claimed were “made this year (2023)” would not be implemented until August 2025 as you mentioned above.

I originally was going to order the 70L and the 25L but decided to start with one to make sure it lived up to what it appeared to be first, then go from there. So that said, I definately want the strap described in the video, it appears that all the other improvements that Tony described were implemented from the shorter handles to the compression strap to the integrated foam base. I’m confused. If I have to wait for a strap described in Apr 2023 until Aug 2025, then I will. But I ask that the strap be at no cost if at all possible.

That you for sending the video! I understand the confusion now.

In the video we have the strap that we used when we originally updated the RUX waterproof bag. In general we recived feedback that that strap requied additional padding so we made an inline swtich to the strap that you have on yours with the additional padding. It has been well recived, but I can see if I can get you the strap as described in the video!

The RUX 70L in black, green, blue, orange and clear will come with a similar strap to the one you have, but the new Mars Red RUX 70L has wider padded straps with silicon grip, if that is a route you want to go down.

Yes still very confusing for sure. I don’t have any padding on my strap at all. It’s just a skinny strap made with slippery nylon folded over and sewn but definitely no padding involved.

Thank you for the heads up about the 70L. I had no idea that there were so many different straps. I thought o did so much research ahead of time and even checked the specs/details.

The EVA foam padding is sewn into that strap! But we found one of the TPU welded straps, like the one in the video! I will have our customer service manager Denn get it sent out to you.
